After Katrina -- New Orleans Couple Marry In Raleigh2005-09-18After fleeing New Orleans from hurricane Katrina and ending up at the Charlotte Coliseum in Raleigh, North Carolina, Deshawn Moss and Trazjae Clark felt closer to each other than ever. They planned to get married next spring, but decided to tie the knot immediately in a civil wedding ceremony at the Wake County courthouse. "We were already close, but this time has brought us even closer," newlywed Clark said earlier this week. "We are so blessed and feel the time is right to begin our lives together as we rebuild from our losses." When word of their plans got around the shelter, relief workers decided to plan the couple a real wedding. Human Services workers located local wedding vendors to supply items such as a wedding dress, groom's tuxedo and bridal flowers. Even plane tickets were donated so relatives could attend the wedding. Approximately 1000 people used the Charlotte Coliseum after it opened as a shelter on September 5. The Mosses are planning to stay in North Carolina after their wedding day, and are looking for jobs in the area.
