Avril Lavigne Weds Deryck Whibley2006-07-16Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne tied the knot with Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley in a ceremony in Montecito, California on Saturday. The ceremony was attended by about 110 family and friends. The 21-year-old Lavigne walked down the aisle in a Vera Wang gown holding a bouquet of white roses. Whibley's fellow Sum 41 members and his family were present at the wedding planned by celebrity planner Mindy Weiss. After the couple exchanged their vows under an awning full of white flowers, they proceeded to join the guests for the cocktail party, which was followed by dinner in tents. For the party, Lavigne shed her bridal gown and donned a Vera Wang strapless number. A cluster of paparazzi grouped outside the estate but could not get a view because of the high hedges and palm trees. Lavigne, of Napanee, Ont., and the 26-year-old Whibley of Toronto, have been dating since 2004. He proposed to her in June 2005. The two share a home in Los Angeles.
