You also need to consider how long the ship will remain docked in its ports of call and whether or not the length of stay is adequate for you.

Deciding When to Go On A Cruise

Of course, timing of your honeymoon cruise also has a great deal to do with what you will do and what you will see. From June to November, Caribbean cruises can be adversely affected by hurricanes. So, if your heart is set on the Caribbean, you might want to forego the traditional June wedding and set sail during a time outside of the hurricane season window.

May through September also tend to be the busiest time of year in the cruise industry because children are out of school and going on vacation with their families, and because it is honeymoon season. If you are looking for a quieter honeymoon cruise, you might want to plan your wedding and subsequent honeymoon cruise outside of this period of time.

On the other hand, if an Alaska cruise is in your plans, you will need to plan a summer wedding because this is the only time of the year these cruises are available. A Hawaii cruise is good all year, but is busiest in the months other than the summer months.
