Celebrity Cruise Line is different from many cruise lines because it offers passengers a refined experience while still providing numerous activities, making it a great choice for a honeymoon getaway.

Celebrity Cruise Line Ships and Itinerary

The Celebrity Cruise Line is based in Miami, Florida and was formed in 1989. The founding family, however, has been a part of the cruise business for decades. With less than a dozen ships in its fleet, Celebrity Cruise Line is one of the smaller cruise lines. Nonetheless, each ship is packed with amenities and itineraries.

The largest ship in the Celebrity Cruise Line can hold over 1,900 passengers, but still offers spacious living quarters for guests. The Zenith, which is the smallest ship, carries more than 1,300 passengers.

The Celebrity Cruise Line has numerous departure ports, including Galveston, Texas; Fort Lauderdale and Miami, Florida; San Diego and San Francisco, California; Seattle, Washington; Bayonne, New Jersey; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and a number of Caribbean ports. From here, you can embark on a Western Caribbean cruise, an Eastern Caribbean Cruise, a southern Caribbean cruise, an Alaska cruise, a Hawaii cruise, a Mexico cruise through the Riviera, and a Bermuda cruise. Special cruise itineraries include an Antarctic cruise, an Arctic cruise, and a Galapagos Islands cruise. The majority of the itineraries are seven to ten days long.

Activities Aboard Celebrity Cruise Ships

The Celebrity Cruise Line is known for being less rowdy than some of the other cruise lines, but there is still plenty of activity. For instance, you can participate in a number of enrichment lectures. Common offerings include history, photography, investment and astronomy talks. The astronomy talks are particularly enjoyable on the Millennium ships, which include a number of telescopes for star viewing. There are also themed guest speakers and caricature artist lectures and numerous enrichment activities, such as cooking demonstrations, dance lessons, computer classes, and art auctions.

The main dining rooms of each ship provide standard cruise food, including vegetarian selections and healthy choices. The specialty restaurants are relatively expensive compared to other cruise lines, but the food is delicious and worth the extra cover charge. There is also a healthy café near the spa, room services, sushi bars, and pizza delivery.

The Celebrity Cruise Line also provides Vegas-style entertainment, including harpists, magicians, comedians, and a cappella groups. The larger ships offer an even more varied entertainment selection. You can also enjoy gambling at the modest casino or take in a few games of bingo.

To keep fit active while on board, you can take advantage of the jogging tracks, basketball courts, golf simulators, and fitness centers. Aerobics classes are also complimentary, though yoga and Pilates classes require a small fee. After your workout, you can enjoy an acupuncture treatment, a hot rock massage, or a hydrotherapy treatment at the spa.

The Celebrity Cruise Line will certainly make you feel like a celebrity during your honeymoon. You will never be short of activities to participate in as you enjoy the luxury and activity onboard.
